Can ChatGPT or Claude predict soccer matches?

Not reliably on their own. A general AI can write a confident paragraph about a match, but it has no tested probability model behind it and no public record of being right. It becomes useful when you connect it to a real model: with predictapp's MCP server, ChatGPT and Claude can read calibrated soccer and NFL probabilities directly.

What goes wrong when you just ask

Ask a chatbot who will win on Saturday and you get a smooth answer: form, injuries, a percentage that sounds exact. I get asked about this all the time. The problem is not that the AI is unintelligent. It is that it is answering a data problem with language.

  • ›No model: the percentage is usually a plausible number, not the output of a tested system.
  • ›No structured data: match-level data on lineups, league history, venues and form across thousands of matches costs about €300 to €500 a month to license. A web search does not replace it.
  • ›No record: nobody saved its answers before kickoff and scored them, so you cannot know what its 70% is worth.
  • ›No draw: like most pundits, it tends to tell you who wins, when about 1 match in 4 ends level.

I tried it

I do use AI. It helped me find papers, check my ideas and move faster. But I did not ask a chatbot to build my model. I read the 38 papers myself, on top of a master's from KLU in Germany and two data science specializations from Michigan. When I asked Claude to simply build a soccer model, I got garbage. Anyone can now make a viral video of an AI hitting 5 matches. Five matches is not a sample.

What AI assistants are good at

They are excellent at the part that comes after the number: explaining a market, comparing two options, doing parlay math, spotting a mistake in your reasoning. So the right setup is simple. Let a tested model produce the probability, and let your assistant help you think about it.

How to give your assistant real numbers

predictapp has an MCP server, the standard way to connect tools to AI assistants. You paste one address into ChatGPT or Claude, sign in, and ask in plain words. The assistant then reads the same probabilities and fair prices the app shows, from Trajan for soccer and from our NFL models for props and Fantasy.

  • ›"Find Arsenal's next match, and show me the probabilities and fair prices."
  • ›"What is the chance the Chiefs win and the game goes over 44.5 points?"
  • ›"Should I start my first or my second wide receiver in PPR this week?"

It is included in your plan

Every paid plan includes calls for your assistant: 500 a month on Soccer or NFL, each for its own sport, and 650 on Global. On predictapp, the assistant quotes numbers with a public record behind them.

Questions people ask

Can ChatGPT predict football scores?

It can give you a guess, but on its own it has no tested model and no record, so you cannot know how much that guess is worth.

Is it safe to bet based on what an AI tells me?

Not on its word alone. Ask where the probability came from and how that source has performed. Whatever the source, no prediction is a guarantee.

Does predictapp work with ChatGPT and Claude?

Yes. Add predictapp's MCP server as a custom connector and sign in. It has been tested with both.

Is predictapp an AI chatbot?

No. predictapp's numbers come from statistical and machine learning models with a public record. An AI assistant can read them, but it does not produce them.
